Writer's Platform Building Campaign

I'm so glad so many people have already blogged/tweeted/posted about Rachael Harrie's Writer's Platform Building Campaign, making me take notice, because this is something I really need right now.

I read blogs, I really do. But most of the time, I chicken out when it comes to interacting with other people. On boards, I have a tendency to lurk. On dA, I browse. On blogs, I read and favorite and pass on the links, but then I slink back into the shadows of anonymity.

Not a great way to make friends. And I could really use some writer friends. So! I'm joining the campaign and forcing myself to claw my way out of this virtual hermitage.

I can't wait to meet the other campaigners! But if you haven't joined in and you're interested, the cut off date is Aug. 31! So hurry on over and sign up!

Excelsior!

  1. Hi Avery! I could have written that same post^^^ I am really good at reading blogs but not as great at leaving comments. This usually stems from the fact that I feel the need to be as witty and charming as everyone else posting and then I just psych myself out ;)

By dA - do you mean DeviantArt? if so I am over there as well as "noir". Looking forward to being in the YA Group with you!

  9. Just a heads up, I have set up a Google Reader with all of YA Group 10 in it to help organize all of our blogs - I am missing 2 people (technical issues I am trouble shooting) but hope to get them added in soon! Link is:

About Me

My Photo
Wife. Mom of 6. Nerd. Wanna-be Writer. I’m the weird chick skulking about the YA aisles of my small town library, raising a few eyebrows when I get overly excited about a new John Green novel or a dystopian future where people have to kill each other for funsies. When I'm not reading YA, I'm writing it.
